BBC Three’s “The Rap Game UK” is coming back for a sixth series in 2024. We are searching for the UKs best unsigned MCs to take part. Competing artists in the Programme will be mentored and supported by some of the biggest names in the UK rap scene, and one artist will win the prize, which is currently to be confirmed.By completing this application form, you confirm that you understand and can comply with the following:
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
This is an application to take part in a talent search competition for a television series provisionally titled “The Rap Game” Series 6 (the "Programme") which FremantleMedia Limited trading as Naked West (the “Company”) proposes but does not undertake to produce for the BBC, the initial broadcaster of the programme.
How We Use Your Data: a) Both the Company and the BBC take your privacy very seriously. By submitting this application form, you are indicating that you understand, acknowledge and (where relevant) consent to the Company collecting and using your personal information in the ways set out in the Company’s Privacy Notice for Programme Applicants (a copy is available here: https://fremantle.co.uk/privacy-notice-applicant.pdf or by emailing privacy.officer@fremantle.com).
b) The Company may need to send some of your personal information to the BBC at any time. If any personal data is shared with the BBC , the BBC’s privacy policy (https://www.bbc.co.uk/contributors/privacy-notice) will apply to such use of your personal data by the BBC. You agree to abide by the rules, regulations, terms and conditions (including these terms and conditions) for the Programme set by the Company (the "Rules") and you agree that the Company can change the Rules at any time (including verbally or written) at its sole discretion. You agree that you will be bound by any new Rules that the Company sets, and the Company’s decisions will be final.
You must be at least 18 years of age by 7th June 2024 to apply. You will be asked to provide the Company with valid and current photographic ID and other documentation to evidence that you are aged 18 or over (i.e. birth certificate, driving licence and/or valid passport).
You must be a current legal resident of and, have the right to live and work in, the United Kingdom, the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man, and have the right to perform in the Programme and take up any related prize and/or prize agreement and be able to demonstrate such right on request by the Company.
The Company will need a copy of your passport (and visa if you do not hold a UK passport) before you take part in the Programme. If you hold a visa to live and work in the United Kingdom, your visa must be valid until 6th June 2025 and state that you can work more than twenty (20) hours per week in the United Kingdom. You must inform the Company immediately of any change in your immigration status.
You understand that to apply for the Programme you must be available for filming away from home for an entire five (5) week period between 22nd July and 31st August 2024 (exact five week period to be confirmed at a later date). If you have any dependents, you should arrange care for them while you are away. There will also be other filming days up to 6th December 2024 which you will need to be available for.
Applications can be made online at http://www.therapgameukcasting.com . Entry is closed on 9th June 2024 at 23:59 BST or at such other date and time as the Company may decide. The Company may at its sole discretion include additional methods of application at any time and the closing dates for such methods will be as stated in the relevant promotion.
Outside of this application process, acts may also be invited to audition for the Programme by researchers acting on behalf of the Company. Such acts will be required to go through the audition process and the Programme Rules will apply.
Any applications not received in time for this series may be considered for a further series, or as reserves. We cannot guarantee that all applicants will receive a response.
The completion of an application does not guarantee that an applicant will receive an audition or participate in the Programme or that your participation in the Programme will be exploited in any media at any time. The decision of the Company is final.
You will not disclose, publish or discuss with any third party, (including by using social media sites) any information relating to the casting, telephone interview, audition process, the Programme, your appearance in the Programme, any locations, themes, the production team or any participants in the Programme nor any other information which may come to your attention during your involvement with the Programme including without limitation any information relating to the Company, talent, the BBC or otherwise unless if such information is already in the public domain.
All personal details and/or information given in your application either in this form or otherwise must be truthful, accurate and in no way misleading. You agree to update the Company if any of the details in your application changes. The Company has the right to disqualify you without liability if you have supplied untruthful, inaccurate or misleading personal details and/or information, have failed to abide by the Rules. The Company may withhold your entitlement to share or participate in any prize, and/or seek damages and other civil remedies against you.
You acknowledge and accept that by submitting any information/videos/photographs and/or any other material with your application (the “Material”), you hereby grant the Company the right to a) feature the Material in the Programme and make such use of the Material as the Company requires, b) incorporate the Material into the Programme and c) exploit and exhibit the Material in all media now known or hereafter developed worldwide in perpetuity as we may require without restrictions or payment whatsoever. You agree to waive and confirm that the director of your video (if any) has waived any moral rights that may exist in relation to the Material. You agree that the Company has no obligation to return any Materials to you.
If you are invited to an audition or to contribute to the Programme, you hereby irrevocably grant all consents necessary for the Company to film and record such audition and to use recordings featuring your image and/or voice in connection with the Programme and/or ancillary rights in the Programme and to exploit the same in all media throughout the world in perpetuity without the need for payment to you.
If you are invited to an audition or to contribute to the Programme, you must disclose to the Company details of any unspent convictions, any criminal charges, and any pending charges or investigations that have been brought against you and inform the Company if any information you provide in your application becomes inaccurate between now and the date of first transmission of the Programme. You further agree that the Company may conduct checks in order to verify the information that you have provided (including social media checks). Please note that the disclosure of such information will not necessarily have an impact on your selection for, or participation in, the Programme.
The Company, the BBC, their agents and sub-contractors do not accept any responsibility whatsoever for any technical failure or malfunction or any other problem with any online applications, telephone network or line, system, server, provider or otherwise which may result in any messages or applications not being properly received or recorded.
If you are invited to an audition or to contribute to the Programme, you will be required to fill in a medical questionnaire so that we are, amongst other things, able to safeguard your welfare and make reasonable adjustments where required, and grant to the Company permission to obtain a medical assessment from your GP or ask you to attend an appointment with the Company’s medical practitioner who shall conduct such assessment. You will also be required to undertake a psychological assessment with a BBC approved psychologist.
Next Steps:
Applicants may be invited to attend a live audition at the location they specified during application, at a time and date to be set by the Company. The Company cannot guarantee that you will be offered a place at the auditions.
Applicants may be invited to an audition following which, successful applicants may be selected to take part in the Programme at the sole discretion of the Company whose decision will be final.
Should you be selected to audition and/or take part in the Programme you agree and undertake to enter into further contracts with the Company and you agree to abide by the terms therein. Failure to do so may result in you no longer being considered for the Programme. The Company’s decision is final.
